Weibo Post Info Scraper for Keyword Posts

This Weibo post info scraper collects keyword-search results from m.weibo.cn and exports each matching post to a structured CSV. Import the workflow into the UScraper local desktop app, add encoded Weibo search URLs, and extract usernames, post text, media links, engagement counts, and post URLs without building a crawler from scratch.

At a glance

Scrape Weibo keyword posts into a reviewable CSV

The template is built around Weibo's mobile search experience. The Navigate block starts with an encoded keyword URL, then the workflow waits for the page and confirms that .card9.weibo-member post cards are visible before it tries to export anything. That makes empty pages easier to diagnose: if cards never appear, the issue is usually access, login, keyword availability, or a layout change.

After the page is ready, UScraper runs a scroll loader that moves to the bottom of the page, waits, and repeats until the content height stops changing. The final Structured Export block reads each loaded post card and appends a row with the keyword, current search URL, author, timestamp, post link, content, media URLs, engagement counts, and extraction time.

Keyword-first collection

Add more encoded Weibo search URLs to the Navigate block when you need multi-topic runs for campaigns, trends, events, or brand mentions.

Spreadsheet-ready output

Export Weibo posts to CSV with fields that analysts can filter, deduplicate, translate, label, or pass into sentiment workflows.

Infinite-scroll handling

The workflow scrolls repeatedly until page height stabilizes, then returns to the top before export so loaded post cards are available.

Local desktop execution

Search inputs and CSV output stay in your local workflow unless you add your own cloud sync, upload, or webhook step.

Who this helps

Weibo scraping use cases for research teams

Brand analysts

Campaign monitoring

Favorable to scraping

Track public Weibo posts around a brand, product launch, spokesperson, or event hashtag, then compare engagement counts across keywords.

Market researchers

Topic discovery

Favorable to scraping

Collect public post text and media links for a defined topic, review the URLs manually, and build a source list for qualitative analysis.

Agencies

Client reporting

Favorable to scraping

Run approved keyword searches, export Weibo posts to CSV, and keep a repeatable dataset beside social listening notes or campaign reports.

How to use

Configure the Weibo post scraper workflow

1

Download and import

Download the hosted JSON template and import it into UScraper.

2

Add keyword URLs

Edit navigate.urls with encoded m.weibo.cn/search URLs. Keep one URL per keyword so the exported keyword column stays traceable.

3

Check access

Open one search URL in the browser session first. If Weibo asks for login, CAPTCHA, or region-specific verification, resolve that before running a batch.

4

Confirm the CSV path

Structured Export writes weibo-keyword-post-info-scraper.csv with headers enabled and append mode on. Change the save folder before client-specific runs.

5

Run and review

Start the workflow, let the scroll loop complete, then open the CSV and spot-check post URLs, media links, and engagement columns before analysis.

Weibo to CSV output fields

The export is designed for post-level review rather than only link collection. Each row keeps the original keyword and source search URL, which helps when a single CSV contains several Weibo search terms.

Frequently asked questions

Weibo posts may be publicly visible, but automated collection can still be limited by Weibo terms, login rules, privacy law, copyright in post content, and local regulations. Use modest research batches, avoid bypassing access controls, and get legal review before republishing or selling exported data.

Before you run

Practical limits for Weibo scraping

Keep these constraints visible

Rate limits

Large or repeated batches may trigger friction

Add delays, keep keyword lists focused, and pause when Weibo returns verification, login prompts, blank feeds, or unusually slow responses.

Selector drift

Mobile card markup can change

Empty exports or missing media fields usually mean the result layout changed, the keyword has few posts, or the card selector needs maintenance.

Compliance

Treat post content as sensitive research data

Store exports only where your team is allowed to keep social data, remove personal data when it is not needed, and avoid republishing private or restricted content.
