YouTube Comments Scraper with Video Details logo

YouTube Comments Scraper with Video Details

This YouTube comments scraper collects visible comment rows and video-level details from one or more YouTube video URLs, then exports them to CSV. Import the workflow into the UScraper local desktop app to capture titles, views, publish dates, channels, subscriber text, descriptions, comment authors, comment text, likes, video URLs, and video IDs without building against the YouTube Data API.

At a glance

Export YouTube comments with video details

Comment context in every row

Each exported comment carries the source video's title, view count, date, creator, subscriber text, description, comment count, URL, and video ID so analysts do not have to join files later.

Built for video URL batches

The Navigate block accepts multiple YouTube URLs and the Loop Continue blocks advance the workflow after each video, whether comments were found or the fallback branch had to export video-only fields.

Local desktop workflow

The template writes to your configured save folder in the desktop app. Your URL list and CSV remain local unless you add a separate sharing, upload, or sync step.

Ready for analysis

Use the CSV for audience research, sentiment tagging, moderation review, competitor monitoring, creator reporting, or lightweight AI enrichment.

How to use

Run the YouTube video scraper workflow

1

Download and import

Download the hosted JSON template and import it into UScraper.

2

Paste video URLs

Replace the sample Navigate URLs with the YouTube videos you want to review. The workflow is already wired for a multi-input loop, so each URL can become part of one appended CSV.

3

Confirm the export path

Structured Export writes youtube-details-comments-scraper.csv with headers and append mode enabled. Change the save location before running client, channel, or campaign batches.

4

Run the load sequence

UScraper sets a large browser window, navigates, waits for the watch page, caches video metadata, pauses the player, handles common consent prompts, scrolls down three times, and expands visible comment text.

5

Open the output

Review row counts, spot-check a few video IDs, and confirm whether fallback video-only rows appeared for videos with blocked, disabled, or unloaded comments.

CSV columns produced by the template

The export keeps one row per loaded top-level comment when YouTube renders comment threads. Video metadata repeats on each row so a spreadsheet, database import, or AI classifier can work from a single file. When comments are unavailable, the fallback branch writes one row scoped to the page body with blank comment fields.

Frequently asked questions

YouTube comments and video metadata can be publicly visible, but automated collection may still be restricted by YouTube terms, robots rules, copyright, privacy law, and local regulations. Do not bypass login, age gates, CAPTCHA, or private access controls, and get legal review before using exports commercially.

Limits and maintenance notes

Operational guardrails for YouTube comment exports

Rate limits

Avoid aggressive repeated runs

YouTube may slow, block, or challenge automated sessions based on traffic volume, IP reputation, browser state, region, and account requirements. Keep batches modest and pause when verification appears.

Layout drift

Selectors can need maintenance

The workflow depends on YouTube watch-page and comment-thread markup. Empty author fields, blank comments, or missing counts usually mean the page layout changed, comments were disabled, or a gate prevented loading.

Policy

Use the right access path

For sanctioned, quota-backed production integrations, compare the official YouTube Data API video and comment endpoints. Use this desktop template only where it fits your legal, privacy, and platform-compliance review.
