This CNN News scraper turns a CNN article page into a structured CSV for research, monitoring, and editorial review. Import the template into the UScraper local desktop app, run the workflow, and export keyword, title, article URL, publish date, description, author, update timestamp, and article text without building a custom CNN data extractor.

At a glance
Use this template when you already know which CNN article you need to capture. The bundled workflow is built around a single article detail page, so it is a better fit for evidence collection, topic monitoring, and repeatable article exports than for crawling CNN section indexes.
Article data in spreadsheet shape
Export CNN News to CSV with the fields analysts expect: topic keyword, headline, source link, dates, summary, author, and full body text.
Local desktop workflow
The browser session and export file stay under your control. The stock template does not send extracted article rows to a hosted scraping actor.
Built-in page readiness checks
The automation waits for the page load and the article headline before Structured Export runs, reducing blank rows from slow article pages.
Metadata-first extraction
Columns use CNN metadata, visible timestamps, bylines, and article paragraphs so you can review both the summary and the full text in one row.

News context
Pair this article-level export with the Google News Scraper or Yahoo News Scraper when you need broader source comparison.
How to use
Download and import
Download the hosted CNN News scraper JSON template, then import it into UScraper.
Set the article URL
Open the Navigate block and replace the sample CNN story with the approved article URL you want to capture.
Adjust the keyword label
Update the keyword column value so each row carries the campaign, topic, or query you are tracking.
Confirm the export folder
Structured Export creates CNN-news-scraper.csv with headers in the configured save location.
Run and review
Start with one article, inspect every column, then duplicate or extend the navigation pattern only for URLs you are allowed to process.
Output preview
The sample bundle did not include a finished CSV, so the preview below mirrors the Structured Export block from the template JSON. Values are representative, but the column names match the workflow exactly.

Scraping CNN can be restricted by CNN terms, robots directives, copyright, privacy law, and your own data-use policies. Use public pages only, do not bypass paywalls or access controls, keep volumes modest, and get legal review before republishing, resale, or AI training.
Before you run
Guardrails for reliable CNN exports
Repeated article requests can be slowed or challenged
Keep batches modest, avoid parallel unattended runs, and stop when you see verification, subscription, or access-control screens.
CNN article markup can change
Empty title, date, author, or text fields usually mean the page structure changed. Re-test the workflow before relying on recurring exports.
News text needs careful downstream use
Use exports for permitted internal review, research, or monitoring. Do not republish or resell article text unless your rights and platform permissions are clear.
