Purpose
Use Network/XHR Capture when a website loads useful data through browser network requests rather than exposing every value in the page's HTML. Capture the traffic produced by your browser workflow and inspect it in Project Data.
How it works
- Captures requests and responses from the browser session.
- Stores captured traffic in Project Data for inspection.
- Captures browser traffic; it does not replace HTTP/API Request for making a direct API call.
Configuration fields
Configure Network/XHR Capture in the desktop app for the browser workflow you want to inspect. Run a small test and review the captured requests and responses in Project Data.
Output
Captured browser requests and responses saved to Project Data.
Usage notes
- Test with one page and one interaction that loads data, such as a search, filter, or load-more action.
- Inspect Project Data after the run to find the request and response associated with the data you need.
- Compare the captured response with the rendered page before deciding which fields to reuse.
- Use HTTP/API Request when you already know the endpoint and want to call it directly with configured headers, authentication, and a body.
